How To Stop Gray Hair?

Misconception

We have been conditioned to believe gray hair is just another dreadful stage in getting older.  You may ask, how to stop gray hair? We’ve been taught that it is a sign of wisdom, sign of aging gracefully and that it should be embraced whenever when pops up.  All of these points would be great if they actually stood to be true.  I hate to be the barrier of bad news but it just isn’t true.  The misconception we have is that as you get older you’ll automatically inherit gray hair.  In actuality it comes from a mineral deficiency and the lack of incorporating natural hair care products in your natural hair routine.  Changing habits will allow you to fix the issue of growing gray hairs.  You can get older without looking old.

What Is The Deficiency

Prematurely graying of the hair is caused by a lack of vitamin b-12 in your diet.  You could also be deficient in vitamin b-6, b-12, biotin, vitamin d and vitamin e.  Without these important vitamins in your natural hair care products, oils for natural hair and daily routine, it will affect the pigmentation of your hair color.  Feeding your hair with the proper nutrition the natural hair color can return.  Gray hair shows a lack of melanin in the hair.  It is no different than when someone losses color in their eyes when they are going blind.  Also, similar to vitiligo; when someone losses the color in their skin.  So it is apparent that there is an underlying problem and that it is not apart of aging.  The real concern is the loss of cell function and melanin cell death.

Research

A study done in 2016 consisted of Indians under the age of 25 that had experienced premature aging.  The study found that the participants had low levels of serum ferritin (helps to store iron in the body) vitamin b-12 and cholesterol hdl-c.

Genetics

Could genetics be the one to blame?  For sure! If your mother, grandmother, and great grandmother suffered from pre-mature graying, it is possible that you may too.  But, that does not mean that it cannot be changed.  The idea is to take extra care to the parts of the body that need the most attention.  You have the ability to break the cycle in your family of pre-mature hair graying. Understanding your genetics will help you to gain the proper knowledge and techniques you’ll need to make a change.

Ethnic Background

Ethnicity and race play a role in how we all age.  It has been found that white people will experience premature graying as early as 20 years old.  Asians as young as 25 years old and 30 years old for African Americans.  Having this information you can learn how to stop gray hair. You can now determine how soon you should jump start the vitamin intake before degeneration starts.

Stress

Have you ever started a new job, excited about your new position?  Before you know it your stressed and have come to the realization that the job is nothing like what you have expected.  A few months pass by and you notice that you have gray hairs that weren’t there before you started the job?  It’s all because of stress.  When the body is under stress, the cells that are responsible for your hair color will be depleted.  It is not something that happens overnight but, overtime.  Before you know it you have a head full of gray hair and you may feel that you are helpless.  The good news is you can actually change this.  There are some great natural hair care products and oils for natural hair that you can experiment with.

Natural Hair Care Products

The hair products you choose will have an effect on how your hair will gray.  Shampoos and conditioners that are not made naturally contain harmful ingredients that decrease melanin.  This also includes hair dyes.  Hiding and covering the grays will only make things worst and speed up the graying process.  Hydrogen peroxide; an ingredient in many hair dyes and is a harmful chemical.  Consistently using products that bleach the hair will eventually cause your hair to turn white.
