Below I’ll be sharing with you a DIY deodorant recipe with shea and cocoa butter.  It is all natural and does not contain any harmful chemicals

Why A DIY Deodorant Recipe With Shea And Cocoa Butter

For starters they are safer.  One of the main ingredients in deodorant is aluminum-zirconium and aluminum chlorohydrate.  All of which have been known to cause cancer in women.  So, it is obvious as to why you should want to stay away from these products and create your own at home.

DIY Recipe

To create this recipe you will need several ingredients, they are:

– 2 1/2 tablespoons of unrefined coconut oil

– 2 1/2 tablespoons of unrefined organic shea and cocoa butter

– 1/4 cup of arrowroot starch/flour

– 1 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda

– 6 drops of lavender essential oil

– 6 drops of grapefruit essential oil

– 1 drop of tea tree essential oil

Making Your Deodorant

Now that you have all of your ingredients together, you are ready to make your diy deodorant recipe with shea and cocoa butter.  Follow these steps below:

Step #1

In a double boiler add the coconut oil, shea and cocoa butter blend.

Step #2

Start to heat the blend, bring the water to a boil until the shea and cocoa butter is completed melted.

Step #3

Once the ingredients is melted, you can now add your baking soda, essential oils and arrowroot starch.

Step #4

Add all of the melted ingredients to your empty deodorant container.  You will need to let the ingredients cool down while it sits in the container.  As it starts to cool the ingredients will harden.  If you are short on time and want to speed up the process, you can put it in the fridge and it will harden a bit faster.  Be sure that you use a lid to cover your deodorant so that it stays fresh for as long as possible.

How To Use It

It is best to apply the deodorant shortly after you shower while your armpits are still a little moist.  This allows the product to be distributed evenly, giving you better results.  Some people find that only applying the deodorant once per day is good enough.  But, if you feel comfortable applying more often that is fine too.  That is the beauty of using an all natural deodorant that contains safe ingredients for the body.
